What is Epiretinal Membrane?

Epiretinal membrane is a fibrous tissue that may build up on the macular area of the retina’s surface, causing problems in vision. Symptoms of Epiretinal Membrance include decreased or loss of central vision, blurred vision, double vision, wavy vision and trouble reading small print.

How can Epiretinal Membrane be treated?

An operation called vitrectomy can treat epiretinal membrane.  During the vitrectomy, tiny cuts are made in your eye to remove vitreous and peel away the epiretinal membrane away from the retina.
